How to turn a URL into a QR code

  1. Paste your website link

Use the URL of your website, online menu, booking page or public document. A bare domain works too. We add https:// for you.

  2. Choose your appearance

Keep black on white for a clear scan, or open Logo & colour to choose your brand colour and add a JPEG or PNG logo.

  3. Generate, scan and download

Select Generate QR code, check it with your phone, then save your PNG or SVG. Both formats are free and watermark-free.

Is this QR code generator free?

Yes. You can generate and download QR codes with no account, subscription or watermark. Custom colours and logos are free too. Donations through the Buy Me a Coffee link help support the site.

Do these QR codes expire?

LinkIntoQR creates static QR codes with your destination URL stored directly in the pattern. There is no expiry timer or LinkIntoQR redirect. Your downloaded code keeps pointing to that URL, even if you stop using this site. The destination still needs to be available.

Can I change the destination after downloading?

A static QR code cannot be edited after download or printing. Generate a new code for a different URL. If you control the page at the original URL, you can update that page without changing the code. LinkIntoQR does not provide dynamic QR redirects.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is a 1024 × 1024 pixel image, handy for documents and social posts. SVG keeps the QR pattern sharp at any size, making it useful for print layouts and larger signs. An added logo is embedded as a PNG within the SVG. Both downloads have an opaque background and a clear border for scanning.

Can I add my logo and brand colour?

Open Logo & colour, choose a preset or custom colour, and optionally add a JPEG or PNG up to 5 MB. Generate again to apply your changes. The app uses high error correction for logo codes and checks that it can read the result before enabling downloads. Keep the logo simple, and test the downloaded code with your phone.

How do I get a QR code that scans well in print?

Use strong contrast, preferably a dark pattern on white. Keep the clear border around the code intact, avoid stretching it, and test a print at the size and distance your audience will use. SVG is useful when resizing. Dark backgrounds can work, but some scanners handle them poorly, so check with the intended devices before printing a batch.

Are my URL and logo uploaded anywhere?

QR generation and logo processing happen on your device. LinkIntoQR does not fetch your destination or upload your URL, logo or QR images. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics for visit statistics, without including those inputs. See how your data is handled.

What happens when I close this page?

Your latest successful code without a logo is remembered in this browser, unless you clear it or your browser blocks storage. Uploaded logos and codes containing them stay in memory only. Download a logo QR before refreshing or closing this page. Generating a logo QR also removes the older saved code.

Can I use these codes for menus and business cards?

Yes. Link to an online menu, portfolio, booking page or other HTTP or HTTPS address. For a document, use a public sharing link that your visitors can open. LinkIntoQR generates URL codes; it does not create Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards or host your files.

Can I track how many people scan my code?

LinkIntoQR does not track scans. The code takes people directly to your destination, so any visit measurement happens on that destination website. Creating or downloading a QR code does not add scan tracking.

Your link stays with you.

LinkIntoQR creates QR codes on your device. Your URL, logo and QR images are never uploaded to a QR service or stored on our servers.

Your latest successful code without a logo is saved in this browser. Logos and codes containing them stay in memory only. Generating a logo QR removes the previous saved code. Download it before refreshing or leaving.
